How contractors can use a Google review QR code without review gating

A review QR code makes the ask easier. It does not give you permission to offer a discount, screen customers first, or ask only happy people.

How contractors can use a Google review QR code without review gating

Get the code from Google

On a computer, open the Business Profile, choose Read reviews, then Get more reviews. Google lets you copy the review link or save the QR code. Put it on a simple thank-you card, final invoice, or text sent after the job is complete.

Ask everyone the same way

Google prohibits incentives for reviews and prohibits selectively soliciting positive reviews. That rules out “scan this for a gift card,” “leave five stars,” and sending the link only after a customer says they are thrilled. Ask after completed work, then let the customer choose whether and what to write.

Make it part of closeout

Give the field team one option: hand over the card after the customer confirms the work is complete, or have the office send the same text that day. Track how often you ask and how many reviews arrive. Do not chase people with repeat messages.
