Reviews after the job
Get Google reviews without chasing customers
Ask at the clean handoff point, send the direct Google link once, and let the customer write what happened. You don’t need an email list or a complicated tool.
Ask about my listingThe direct answer
Make the review ask part of closing the job.
The best time to ask is after the customer has seen the completed work and agreed the job is done. A technician can ask in person, then the office can send the direct Google review link by text. Keep the message short and ask for an honest review, not five stars.
Ask every completed customer under the same rule. Don’t pay for reviews, offer discounts, or filter people by whether you think they’ll leave a positive rating.
A text your office can actually send
“Thanks for trusting [Business Name] with your [service] today. If you have a minute, would you share an honest Google review? It helps local homeowners know what to expect: [review link]” Change the service, not the intent. One request is enough.
Give the crew a natural line
At the final walkthrough: “If everything looks right, our office will text you a Google review link. An honest note about the job helps people nearby choose who to call.” Then finish the handoff. Don’t stand over the customer while they write it.
Track the habit, not the stars
Count eligible completed jobs, requests sent, and reviews received. A missed request points to a process problem; a negative review may point to a service problem. Both are more useful than pressuring customers for a perfect rating.
- Use Google’s direct review link or QR code
- Send one clear request soon after completion
- Reply to reviews in the business’s normal voice
- Pause automation when a complaint needs a person
- Never buy, trade, or gate reviews

Straight answers
Questions owners ask.
Call or text (509) 557-0797 if your situation doesn’t fit these answers.
Can I offer a discount for a Google review?+
No. Google prohibits incentives for reviews. Ask for an honest review without a reward or a required star rating.
Should I ask only happy customers?+
No. Screening customers first and sending the review link only to likely promoters is review gating. Use the same fair request after completed jobs.
What if I do not have customer email addresses?+
Text the review link after the job, show a Google-provided QR code on a leave-behind card, or ask in person and follow with one message.
Should employees mention keywords in the request?+
No. Ask for the customer’s honest account of the work. Their own words are more credible than a coached phrase.
